We challenge what art is, whom it’s for, and where and how it’s created. Founded in May 2011, 6018North champions the creation of adventurous work that connects multiple disciplines and audiences while promoting artistic excellence. We support emerging and established local and international artists to create innovative, multidisciplinary work that allows artists and audiences to connect in transformative ways. Our projects—from site-specific installations to experimental performances and communal events—take place in 6018North’s mansion in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood, across the City, and beyond. As a nimble lab for incubating, modeling, and experimenting, we leverage new ways of connecting artists, architects, audiences, collectors, critics, curators, designers, performers, leaders, institutions, and writers to further build and sustain an artist community while enriching Chicago’s creative ecosystem</image:caption>
